50+ Fearless Feminine Power

What I learned About Coaching

I have always thought that really great coaching was something that only people who made a ton of money could afford to do. But I suppose that was just  (in coaching lingo) a story that I told myself. In fact, ironically, I hired my coach when I had hit rock bottom financially when my husband’s salary got cut in half and I was afraid we might lose our home. In what might seem counter-intuitive, I decided to hire a coach to help me through this murky place and help me believe that I could grow into whatever I chose in my life and that I have everything it takes to do this. And it was not cheap. But it was funny how, in spite of the fact that I was scared to death financially, intuitively I saw it as my only hope. I just knew from my “gut” that it was just what I needed to do and I would have to find a way to do it. And I did!!! And it was an incredible INVESTMENT! Here are some of the things that my coach Jeanna (and being a student of Coaches Training Institute) have taught me about myself: I have learned to think (believe) Bigger than I ever have allowed myself .The reason I exchanged the word “think” for “believe” is that sometimes we get too much in our heads. Thinking from our divine inner guidance is a much healthier way to manifest what you want. It is more intuitive and creative. And it feels better. It allows us to tap into our authentic selves and manifest from...

Raising the Bar on Fearless

As we explore new ways to challenge our boundaries around what we think is possible, we are often stopped by sneaky saboteurs that creep into our consciousness in ways that we don’t expect. And these little buggers can be awfully conniving and tricky to recognize. One of the ways that they keep us playing small is the setpoint saboteur. This tricky little devil loves to sabotage us when we begin to reach new heights by not allowing us to claim abundance past a certain set point. And what makes it worse is that often these saboteurs are subconscious and were created at a young impressionable age for reasons that don’t always make logical sense. Here is an example of a money setpoint saboteur: As hard as you try you can’t seem to make more than $100,000 in yearly income. You have hired all the “right” people-coaches, strategists, assistants, etc. And you have worked your Bootay off to no avail-and lots of frustration. Somehow, something always happens that prevents you from reaching your goal. Maybe you get sick or sued or lose money in a bad deal. You can’t understand why, if you are trying so hard, things just don’t seem to fall into place. Then one day while working with your coach she starts to dig a little deeper into how you subconsciously feel about money. And alas, you realize that your conditioning since you were young was to believe that people who are rich are self centered jerks that don’t care about anyone but themselves. Maybe your parents used to talk about how they worked so hard only to...

Stokin’ Your Soul Fire

For all of you Baby Boomer women, I truly believe that you can get so excited about the next phase of your life that you can reinvent yourself in a way that is meaningful and uniquely yours. However sometimes we get so caught up in wanting things that leave us feeling empty. For instance, some women shop a lot and spend money to fill a void but the void never gets filled because what they really want is to feel valued, important or deserving. Unfortunately, they don’t know this because their real desire comes from a deeper, more subconscious palace. Or they may eat to “stuff down” feelings of fear, inadequacy or longing when what they really want is to feel loved, special or validated. So that is why it helps to take a deeper dive into what really makes you tick. Yes, you, my Baby Boomer friend, with your own spiritual DNA, have an opportunity to be ” all that you can be” and put your wonderful stamp on this world in a way that no one else ever will! One of my very favorite quotes is by Martha Graham to Agnes B. DeMille: “There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.”   In my coaching practice I see wonderful women with so much to offer, hold themselves back, afraid to shine their beautiful light. They...
