50+ Fearless Feminine Power

Gimme Some of That Woowoo

Something has been happening in the world that is really exciting and magical and forward  thinking, and savvy business owners are finally starting to catch on. Now this may feel a little  radical and “out there for you traditional left brain thinkers” but hear me out. For so long our business culture has been dominated by male centric, linear, left brained  thinking. This includes critical thinking, strategy, logic, words, reasoning, etc. And this is all great, but it tends to keep us doing the same things that our predecessors have  done -instead of tapping into our creative abundant mind that is in touch with universal  intelligence. (I can just hear some of you going whoa, Marianne- you lost me  there….heeheee), but try and open up to this and I will do my best to explain. Since the 1990s a movement to tap into our more feminine and right brain mind has many  business owners and entrepreneurs tapping into a source of inspiration and wisdom that is  beyond rational thinking. This is more in line with right brain thinking that is intuitive,  creative, sees images, and recognizes faces, reads emotions and symbols. It is pretty obvious that tapping into universal power and the power of the subconscious mind is a limitless source of wisdom. People who are more in touch with spirit and the power of the universe understand that this is an amazing source of inspiration, creativity and connection. As more and more women have become entrepreneurs, there is a “new way of doing business” that takes into consideration heart based modalities and a whole new shift from linear...

How I Let Go of the Ledge so that I Could Live My Best Life

“I say the universe speaks to us, always, first in whispers. And a whisper in your life usually feels like ‘hmm, that’s odd.’ Or, ‘hmm, that doesn’t make any sense.’ Or, ‘hmm, is that right?’ It’s that subtle. And if you don’t pay attention to the whisper, it gets louder and louder and louder. I say it’s like getting thumped upside the head. If you don’t pay attention to that, it’s like getting a brick upside your head. You don’t pay attention to that—the brick wall falls down. That is the pattern that I see in my life and so many other people’s lives. And so, I ask people, ‘What are the whispers? What’s whispering to you now?'” — Oprah Mid life is a great time to reevaluate how you want to spend the next phase of your life. It certainly was for me! As I approached 50, I knew that I needed a dramatic change in the direction of my life. I was not happy! Whispers The first thing that I wanted to do was to leave my job. I had been there for 8 years, was working a lot at a very high pace and felt stuck at a job that didn’t really feed my spirit or my pocketbook with the abundance that I craved.  There was really no hope of me making enough money to comfortably pay our bills and as inflation was eating away at my paycheck, I was always worried about making ends meet. Since I worked from 9-2, this job had served me well by allowing me to be home in the afternoon...

How Do You Spend Your Life Currency?

I remember years ago reading Cheryl Richardson’s book Take Time for Your Life and it had a profound effect on the way I began to look at everything. It really made me stop and think about what my priorities are and how they stacked up to my deepest core values. One of the things that she said was “If your schedule doesn’t reflect your priorities, stop reacting to life and take control of what gets your time and attention”. Wow! Think about that for a minute. How do you spend your time? Does it reflect your deepest values? Be honest! You can’t say that health and spiritual bliss are your deepest values if you don’t give either of them any love, can you? Or if creativity is one of your core values, how are you honoring that? Or what if being a great Mom is a core value? Does your day to day life reflect that or are you M.I.A? Now I am NOT here to judge your values and neither should you. This is about being honest about what, at your very core, is important to you. After all, this is YOUR life. All too often we get on the hamster wheel of life and become caught up in “have tos” that were designed by someone else. We have to make and save enough money so that we can retire someday. We have to work late so that we can keep our jobs. We have to make dinner every night for our family. We have to work at a job that sucks the life out of us so...
