Manifesting a Magical Business 2017

If you are planning your business goals out for this year , try something different. Instead of looking at your business from a left brain, linear approach, think about how you can tap into that underused creative right side of your brain to create the life and business that you would like. Business doesn’t have to be difficult, boring and deplete your life energy. It can be incredibly joyful, interesting and fill your life with an abundance of energy if you decide to make it that way. And frankly-it is your choice. This goes for you if you are a Real Estate agent, Interior Designer, Accountant or any small business owner (or large for that matter).Once you make a decision to look at your business from a more creative point of view-you will understand the mindset of the most interesting and accomplished entrepreneurs. People like Oprah, Steve Jobs, Mary Kay Ash, Arianna Huffington, Gary Keller, J.K. Rowlings, Angie Hicks (Angie’s List) all have one thing in common. They think outside of the box and who they are is congruent with how they “show up” in business. They are willing to trust their instincts and take the road less travelled, to differentiate themselves. When we create our businesses in a way that is congruent with who we are and what motivates us, we will tap into an abundance of energy and ideas for our business that can’t be found from a linear approach. Here are some ways to tap into that creative, magical entrepreneurial spirit: Decide on a Theme When you do your business plan this year decide on a...

Three Strategies to Supercharge Your Business

I coach many entrepreneurs who are stuck in their business. They want to grow but there are things that get in their way. What is interesting is that it is typically about who they are “being” in their business that keeps them stuck rather than what they are doing. It is their mindset around their challenges that block them. So I would like to propose 3 ways to get out of stuck and start soaring: Set Better Boundaries- Boundaries are important because they help us honor what is really important to us. They allow us to take charge of our time and own our value. When we respect ourselves, others will follow. I remember when I had no boundaries when I was selling Real Estate many years ago. I let my customers dictate my time, always jumping to please. I was like a puppet on a string. I ended up becoming very burnt out and resentful because I never allowed myself any time for me. I wasn’t honoring my own health and well being. What I realize looking back is that I had created this monster because I allowed it to happen instead of setting healthy boundaries. It is the difference between being proactive and reactive. Once I realized that it was up to me to take care of me, everything changed. I felt so much better about my business and it began growing effortlessly. I felt lighter, happier and less stressed. And my customers totally respected my time. I still give awesome service but not at the expense of my health and well being. I made a decision to...

Living Your Life Agelessly

Some people are old at 18 and young at 90……time is a concept that humans created. ~Yoko Ono   I remember my Mother telling me that older women were treated as if they were invisible. My Grandmother said the same thing to me in regards to how the medical profession treated the elderly. She would do everything in her power to charm her Doctors and Nurses and from what I saw-they adored her. However, I believe that she used her charm so that they wouldn’t look at her as “less than” or an inconvenience. I will never forget when she was in her nineties and she was hospitalized. As each nurse came into the room she lavished her with compliments. My Grandmother told each and every one of them how beautiful they were and they all loved it. What made it really funny was that there was a sign over her head that said “legally blind”. I could never understand why my Mother and Grandmother felt that way. After all, they were always the life of the party. Both of them had family and many friends who adored them. They were pied pipers wherever they went, taking their willing followers on a journey with their funny, quirky stories that we never tired of. In fact I was recently at a party with my Mother where one of the guests was looking in my Mothers direction and gushing on and on about how beautiful she was. My Mother very modestly thanked her. The funny part was that the woman was talking about a cat named Willow that was directly behind...

Transformational Coaching

I often get asked, “what do you mean by transformational coaching?” and I would like to try and explain it in a way that will help you understand the amazing benefits because transformational coaching is so profound that it changes the way we are wired and helps us to thrive in a way that is like no other! Transformational coaching starts with finding out what my client really wants and then helping her grow into the person who will achieve what she wants by transforming her way of “being” and sense of empowerment in the world. When I talk about empowerment it is not in an egoic way but more of a strong sense of knowing who she is, what she wants and owning her dream and vision for her life, in spite of her fears and limiting beliefs. “How does one become a butterfly”, she asked? “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” Trina Paulus When we feel empowered we are more resilient. We are better at handling situations that might have stopped us in the past and we believe that we can make our dreams come true. This belief is so important because if we don’t really believe that we can do something, we will resist it! Often times clients have a vague idea of the essence of what they want. They are frustrated with a job or relationship. They are not happy. They want to build their business without feeling overwhelmed. They want to feel financially secure or thriving. In order to really zero in on...

Rut Ro- Are You Stuck in a Rut?

Let’s face it- we all have been stuck in a rut at one time or another and although we often desperately want to get out of it, we somehow stop ourselves. We wallow in being stuck as if somehow that will get us unstuck. Maybe we complain endlessly about the job we are in or a relationship as we spin on the hamster wheel of futility. Rut ro! How do we get unstuck? There is another way if we have the courage to step outside of ourselves and see the forest for the trees. Sometimes we have to trick ourselves out of it, by reframing our thoughts. Sometimes we have to dig a little deeper. Often we have to ask ourselves some compelling questions. Here are some ways to get unstuck: Catch Yourself– when you find yourself complaining about what is, reframe that thought to what it is that you really want. From a law of attraction perspective, when you keep focusing on what you don’t want, you get more of that. Your thoughts give you more of whatever you focus on. Every time that you focus on what you don’t want, replace that thought with what you would really love instead. Ask yourself-what do I really want? What would I do if anything were possible? If you place your thoughts on what you want instead of what is you become vibrationally aligned with what you want and that is where the magic happens. This is how you attract thoughts, opportunities and people who will support you in what you want. Trust Your Inner wisdom-Your inner wisdom knows what...

The Secret to Getting What You Want

I see it over and over again, Someone says that they want to lose weight, be in a loving relationship, land the perfect job, build a lifestyle business, have more fun, etc. and then they don’t take the steps to achieve that goal. And I believe that one of the most important reasons is that they don’t set specific intentions on a daily basis. It is so important to be intentional in your business and life. Otherwise you will simply be taking what you get instead of creating your life and business by design-your design. Intention is the creative power that aligns our body, mind and spirit with our dreams. Everything in the universe begins with intention. Once you set your intention you will begin to instinctually know how to handle any situation for optimal results. You will act as a result of the way that you are “being” from the inside/out and this will guide you. An intention is not the same as a goal. A goal is a desired result that typically has a deadline. An intention is more of a way to align with the essence of what you would like for the outcome to be in any given situation. Here is an example. Often we set intentions at the beginning of a yoga class. For example, I might tell myself to stay open, let go of stress or “go to my edge”. You can see how different shifts in perspective might give me a completely different yoga experience. The journey is as important as any outcome. Whether you are meeting with a client, a prospect, your...
