Marianne - precious-time-concept-clock

9 to 5, whoa what a way to make a livin’
Barely gettin’ by, it’s all takin’ and no givin’
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it

Hello there, did I get your attention with this bold title?

Well I certainly hope so because based on the overwhelming feedback that I received from Ditch Your Job Part 1  and Ditch Your Job Part 2 many of you are feeling frustrated and  stuck by the trappings of a 9-5 job that rob you of your life’s energy and your precious time.

As you get older you realize that time is running out to really create your life your way, based on what you value most.  But you are stuck and believe that you are caught between a rock and a hard place.

You know that you want out but you keep getting sucked back in by the promise of a pension, the benefits and the false sense of security that a 9-5 job offers.

Just the thought of leaving your “secure job” scares you shiftless-you are afraid of shifting into the belief that you could possibly create something better in your life-something that honors what you value most.

Just as a side note, I want to shatter your beliefs. I believe that a 9-5 job is an illusion of security. More and more people are being laid off due to downsizing, outsourcing and ageism.

At a 9-5 job you are at the mercy of something other than yourself and this is where you have an opportunity to take back your power!

However, you go to work every day and wish that you were somewhere else, somewhere you can feel alive again and hopeful and feel as though you are making some kind of a difference in your life as well as the lives of others.

Maybe you daydream about what you would really love to do with your life as you robotically go through your day, filling everyone’s needs but your own.

9 to 5, yeah they got you where they want you
There’s a better life, and you dream about it, don’t you?
It’s a rich man’s game no matter what they call it
And you spend your life puttin’ money in his wallet

I believe that the key to creating the life you want is to create your own business and it can be alot easier than you think if you break it down into simple doable steps.

It breaks my heart to see smart, successful vibrant women settle for less than a kick ass life and I do believe that it is totally possible for women to transition into a life and business that makes this next phase of life the best phase of life.

I know this because I have done it and believe me….I was also really scared….but I knew that the benefits would be worth it . I would be able to finally work at something that I love and schedule my work around what I value most in my life and feel really excited about building a business (actually coaching is the second business that I have built-I also have had a Home Staging and Decorating Company since 2005).

Trust me, if I can do this so can you!

Tick Tock-It is Time to ROCK!!!!!

Many women are overwhelmed by the idea of starting a business and I say-you can totally do this .

Here are 5 top reasons why you should consider creating a business that honors your life:

  1. You can start this transition while you are collecting a paycheck so the risk is minimal
  1. You have developed a lifetime of skills that you take for granted which can be used to start a business
  1. You will get way too bored if you simply retire
  1. Women are outliving their retirement savings
  1. You will feel hopeful, vital and excited about your life again

Here are some interesting stats in a report released by the Federal Reserve .  It says that 31 percent of Americans have no money saved for retirement and are not receiving a pension. That included 19 percent of people ages 55 to 64. About 25 percent of those surveyed said they would work as long as possible.

I am currently creating a group program to help the Baby Boomer woman transition from a 9-5 job to have the life she dreams of – putting her life values first and creating a business that supports her so that she has more money and more time to do as she pleases.

My goal is to break down the steps for you to make this transition easy peasey, fun and exciting… get your mojo back.

This program will also help empty nesters get back into the work force.

In the meantime, I would be curious about what your struggles are so that I can plan this course around what you want most .

Please email me at with any comments or questions.

And let’s get fired up for 2015 and make it your best year ever!!!!!
