Let’s face it- we all have been stuck in a rut at one time or another and although we often desperately want to get out of it, we somehow stop ourselves. We wallow in being stuck as if somehow that will get us unstuck. Maybe we complain endlessly about the job we are in or a relationship as we spin on the hamster wheel of futility.

Rut ro!

How do we get unstuck?

There is another way if we have the courage to step outside of ourselves and see the forest for the trees. Sometimes we have to trick ourselves out of it, by reframing our thoughts. Sometimes we have to dig a little deeper. Often we have to ask ourselves some compelling questions.

Here are some ways to get unstuck:

Catch Yourself– when you find yourself complaining about what is, reframe that thought to what it is that you really want. From a law of attraction perspective, when you keep focusing on what you don’t want, you get more of that. Your thoughts give you more of whatever you focus on. Every time that you focus on what you don’t want, replace that thought with what you would really love instead.

Ask yourself-what do I really want?

What would I do if anything were possible?

If you place your thoughts on what you want instead of what is you become vibrationally aligned with what you want and that is where the magic happens. This is how you attract thoughts, opportunities and people who will support you in what you want.

Trust Your Inner wisdom-Your inner wisdom knows what is in your highest and best interest. When you allow that inner voice to guide you, you can’t go wrong!

It is so important to trust that voice over other voices that are telling you differently. Too often we get caught up in other’s opinions or limiting thoughts that have been cultivated by society or we may assume that others will look upon us unfavorably if we follow a certain path.

We have become so conditioned to listening to all of this external noise that we have forgotten that this is our one life and we do get to choose how we want to live it!

Let your inner wisdom be your guiding light-always!

Yes, it takes guts sometimes and yes, people around you may have to adjust to whatever path you choose-but the payoffs are immeasurable-so do it anyways!

Do (and think) something different- Sometimes we simply need to shake things up a little by doing something that we don’t normally do. Start thinking of ways that you can break your routine.

Let’s say that you are stuck in a job that you don’t like. What if instead of coming home and sitting in front of the TV, you took an art class or went to yoga? What if you started leaning into what you really want by taking an adult ed class on starting a small business? What if you spent your lunch hour reading a book on law of attraction while eating your lunch by yourself instead of with a bunch of peers that hate their jobs too? What if you took a different route to work or focused on what you do like about your job? What if you looked into the possibility of going after a different job in your company? What if you journalled every day about how you would like your life to be if anything were possible? What if every day you set the intention to find what you do like about your job?

The possibilities are endless. It is up to you to ask the right questions.

Lean in- Often what stops us from creating what we really want is that it feels unattainable and frankly, overwhelming. The trick here is to simply lean into it and take one step at a time. As you take each step forward, trust that your inner guidance will tell you what to do next. You will build momentum and confidence as you keep moving forward.

The important thing to remember is that you have everything it takes to keep figuring it out!

Stop looking outside yourself- The good news (or the bad news-you get to choose) is that it is truly up to you!

It is so easy to blame our situation on outside factors but the truth is that it all comes down to us. We can blame our bosses for not paying us enough or our mates for not appreciating us or whatever but when it all comes down to it, it is up to us to change the situation. Period!

Isn’t it time that you stop settling for a ho hum life and start living like you mean it?

Now that’s what I am talkin’ about!

Cheers to you and your one precious life!
