I coach many entrepreneurs who are stuck in their business.They want to grow but there are things that get in their way. What is interesting is that it is typically about who they are “being” in their business that keeps them stuck rather than what they are doing. It is their mindset around their challenges that block them.
So I would like to propose 3 ways to get out of stuck and start soaring:
Set Better Boundaries- Boundaries are important because they help us honor what is really important to us. They allow us to take charge of our time and own our value. When we respect ourselves, others will follow.
I remember when I had no boundaries when I was selling Real Estate many years ago. I let my customers dictate my time, always jumping to please. I was like a puppet on a string. I ended up becoming very burnt out and resentful because I never allowed myself any time for me. I wasn’t honoring my own health and well being. What I realize looking back is that I had created this monster because I allowed it to happen instead of setting healthy boundaries. It is the difference between being proactive and reactive.
Once I realized that it was up to me to take care of me, everything changed. I felt so much better about my business and it began growing effortlessly. I felt lighter, happier and less stressed. And my customers totally respected my time. I still give awesome service but not at the expense of my health and well being.
I made a decision to honor things that were important to me first and then my business. Time spent with my husband and daughters became a non negotiable appointment. Yoga became a priority.
Often we fear that we will lose business when we set boundaries but the opposite is true.
When you set better boundaries you:
- are less stressed and show up from a lighter, happier place
- charge what you are worth
- spend time on income producing activities
- understand that working with your ideal clients is important
- value your time
What boundaries will you set?
Expect More-It is so important to start expecting MORE for yourself. Too many times I work with clients who don’t own their magnificence-who expect too little-who set the bar too low. As I always tell my clients and my daughters -you will get what you expect out of life.
If you don’t expect much, that is what you will get. Instead of settling for what you get and living by default, start expecting more. More money, more time, more freedom, more love, more abundance.
Ask yourself: Am I playing to win or playing not to lose?
This is an eye opening question because often our mindset is “How can I not lose what I have?” which is fear mode vs. a more empowering mindset which is “How can I be in it to win it”?
It is really important when you would like to grow your business that you play to win. When you play to win you make a decision to do whatever it takes. You don’t let fear and limiting beliefs dictate your success. You feel abundant and look through the lens of “anything is possible”. You are the co creator of your destiny. You believe that you have everything it takes to succeed. You know that everything is “figure out able” and that all of your next steps will unfold as you keep moving forward, one step at a time.
When you play not to lose you are more afraid of losing what you have than gaining something much better. You hold on tight to fear and limiting beliefs that keep you playing small.
See how that simple shift changes the way you look at everything?
There is enough abundance for everyone in the universe-it is infinite. Expect that the universe will support you. If you have thoughts that tell you differently-pay attention. Always ask yourself this question:
Am I coming from a place of scarcity and lack or abundance?
Always choose abundance. Expect more!
Understand that it is Totally Up to You- If you want to be really successful then you have to understand that it is completely up to you to create what you want. Period.
It is up to you to work on yourself, get the help that you need, take inspired action, believe in yourself, surround yourself with people who support you, invest time and money, learn and grow and create your most amazing business.
If you blame the economy or your spouse or anything else for the fact that you can’t have an amazing life and business-stop! Your mindset dictates your success and playing the victim is not empowering.
Once you realize that it is totally up to you it is both scary and exhilarating! You get to chose what to focus on. Choose thoughts that empower you.
Now that is what I am talkin’ about!
