What is Your Clear and Compelling Vision?
As we approach 2015 this is an opportune time to think about your business and what you would like to accomplish-not just financially but how your business will impact the people you serve and fuel your spirit.
A clear and compelling vision will articulate the experience you would like your customers to have as well as the transformation they will have after working with you. It is the foundation for everything that you do in your business and the litmus test for what you stand for in your marketing, branding and the way you do business.
If you really think about it, a clear and compelling vision is your “Big Why”. It answers the question “Why have I chosen this particular business and how can I make the lives of my customers better?”
I would like to share my vision for my coaching business so that you can see what I mean. It can be summed up in one sentence but for me, it goes deeper on so many levels.
Here it is:
My vision is to help Baby Boomer women find more joy, passion and purpose in their life so that they can create a smokin’ hot second half.
For me, what fuels my business is the belief that Baby Boomer women have changed the world for women in so many ways by reinventing what it looks like to be a woman. And I am sooo proud to be part of a generation of women who have opened up so many possibilities for themselves as well as future generations of women.
It took a lot of courage for women in our generation to defy traditional roles and stereotypes to create a new model for women both in life and business.
On a deeply personal level I want to help each woman that I coach to have the courage to own her personal power and know that she can create the next phase of her life in a way that honors her deepest values. I want her to feel fabulous, fearless and fully alive.
On another level, I feel compelled to help lead women in my generation to show the younger generation what it looks like to age powerfully and gracefully as women in a society that doesn’t always value aging women- to show my daughters that every age is wonderful.
This is what fuels me. This is what excites me about the next phase of my life!
So back to you! It doesn’t matter what business you are in. If you know why you serve the people that you do and how you can make their life better, start writing a compelling vision that will juice you up and help you find that passion again for why you do what you do.
Inspiring stuff!
