I don’t know if you feel the way that I do, but the older I get the MORE I want to create my life on my terms and I want to do it all out. There is an urgency to this that is palpable to me.
I guess that I could take the approach that many others my age take and become more complacent and “slow down” but that simply doesn’t appeal to me. Or retire-yikes! That would bore me to tears, make me feel obsolete and I would probably not feel real excited about my future.
Instead, the opposite is true. I am more excited than ever about what is to come and I love what I am creating in my life!
I am telling you this because maybe you can relate….maybe you want more also.
Life is a creation- I am co creating my life with the universe, only now I understand that more than ever and am I open to receiving its infinite wisdom. After all, I can’t manifest all this greatness by myself.
What is really great about being 58 is that I have so much more to offer than I did when I was younger. I have worked as a professional actress, sold Real Estate, created my own Home Staging Business and now have a coaching practice that fills my heart.
Along the way there were bumps and bruises-but I survived and often thrived. Most importantly, I was always open to learning.
I also raised 3 amazing daughters who have taught me more about life than anyone. Raising them I learned how to manage time, finances and the mercurial emotions of teen aged girls-which is a huge feat in itself . Because of them, I have felt a love that is beyond what I could ever imagine.
As a young woman growing up amidst changing roles for women, I had to learn how to fit into a world that favored men in business while making sure that I didn’t miss a beat at home. Many of the choices that I made were based on preconceived notions and beliefs.
Our generation was labeled Superwomen-caught between being responsible for most of the domestic chores and trying to build careers without role models-we paved new paths.
I had to learn how to value myself enough to expect more and to expand what was possible in my life. This took the longest time for me to figure out and working with a kick ass coach really helped me with this break through.
As I grew, I began to care less about what mold others wanted me to fit into and more about what I wanted for myself.
Now, I am committed to changing the beliefs that don’t serve me in favor of ones that help me play a much bigger game-The Game is Called- Live Life Like You Mean it-Full Out and On Fire.
Now that my daughters are grown I have professional goals that include helping many women improve their quality of life through my coaching, writing and public speaking.
On a personal level I want to take care of my health, feel great in my own skin, love my family up, travel and someday have a home near the ocean.
I will never give up on my dreams-never.
That is what keeps me excited about life in the present and future.
I am not telling you all of this to make this about myself. I am sharing this in the hopes that you can relate and see that anything is possible for you when you look at your dreams and how you “show up” in life.
For you, the important thing here is that the process of going after your dreams should light you up. The journey should inspire you to grow as a person.
So what are you thinking about for this next part of your life?
I believe that this is an opportune time to reevaluate what you want and start living like you mean it…..whatever that looks like to you.
Each of us is special-with a unique spiritual DNA and I believe that it is our job to figure out how to tap into that spirit and live our life aligned with it’s calling.
And if you haven’t paid attention to this thus far, NOW is the time to do this. NOW is the time to dream a bigger dream and grow into that person who will see that dream become reality.
The first step is believing that you can do this! You can!
Start being the artist of your life and create the life you really want!
