Certification changes what you know about staging. It doesn’t change who you believe you are as a business owner. In this episode I talk about the identity gap between being a certified Home Stager and a Confident & Profitable one – and how to close it.
Most of the stagers I coach walk in the door already talented. They’re certified, they have an eye, and they can transform a room but they don’t understand why it is so difficult to run a business.
The gap I see over and over is something they haven’t been taught and it is not their fault —it’s a mindset shift. It’s the difference between thinking like a craftsperson and thinking like a business owner. And it’s the whole reason two stagers with the same training can end up running completely different businesses.
This episode is for you if you are certified, trying “all the things” and keep feeling stuck.
You will learn:
- What changed for me when I was certified and stuck and what I did to bridge that gap
- Why being a craftsperson takes a different skill set than being a great business owner
- The 5 things that move the needle and create a profitable and fulfilling business
- The one question to sit with that will change everything
- How we might work together to close the gap and deepen the learning
