One of the things that many creatives would rather not deal with is the financial aspect of the business.
I often hear “but I am not a numbers person” and, like it or not, knowing your numbers is imperative in order to make sure that you are profitable in your business.
Let’s face it, the income you are generating doesn’t tell the whole story. The money you are netting is what is most important.
Knowing your numbers helps you make better business decisions so that your money is working for you.
In this episode of Home Stagers and Designers on Fire I interview Danielle Hayden of Kickstart Accounting.
In this episode you will learn:
How your money mindset determines how you deal with finances
Why knowing your numbers is foundational, no matter what stage you are in your business and how this helps you make the best business decisions moving forward
Why “clean book keeping” is important
How your accounting and CRM software helps you assess profitability and what metrics to track
Financial metrics every entrepreneur should be tracking
How market research does and doesn’t help you determine your pricing
How to decide when to raise your prices
How to determine when to invest in your business
Why a weekly and monthly financial check is important
